Privacy policy
Choose Forward, with Morris Misel: this policy was last updated on 13 October 2026.
Choose Forward asks you to think out loud about real decisions, so you should know exactly what happens to what you tell it. This page says what we collect, where it's kept, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. It goes with the terms of use.
Who we are
Choose Forward is operated by Success through Focus Pty Ltd ATF The Miselowski Family Trust (ABN 77 308 291 290), "we" and "us" here. Morris Misel is the person behind it. Questions about your information go to Sylvia at sylvia@morrisfuturist.com.
We're a small business and, as the law stands, the Privacy Act's Australian Privacy Principles may not formally apply to us. We follow them anyway, including the new rules on being open about automated decisions that start on 10 December 2026.
Where AI is used, and what it doesn't decide
- Mo and the digital team are AI. When you talk with Mo, or Reese looks something up, your messages are sent to an AI model to write the answer. Nothing a person reads is pretending to be AI, and nothing AI writes is presented as Morris.
- When you send Morris a question, AI drafts a short brief for him. Morris reads your question himself and writes the reply himself.
- A few things run on simple automatic rules: the monthly fair-use limits and the room's monthly limit (Mo or Reese resting until the 1st), short hourly limits, the pause on a connection after too many wrong gift codes, and the "Not for me" button's check that you're inside your 14 days and haven't been refunded before. They use your membership details and your counts of use, never what you've said.
- No decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by a computer alone. Nothing in Choose Forward scores you, assesses your eligibility for anything outside the room, or makes decisions about you for anyone else. If an automatic rule says no and you think it's wrong, write to Sylvia and a person will look at it.
- Questions about any of this go to sylvia@morrisfuturist.com.
What we collect
- Your membership details: first name, email address, your membership type and status, how you came to us (for example an event code, or how you heard about Choose Forward if you tapped an answer when you joined), your dates, and the Stripe reference for your payments. We never see or keep your card details; Stripe holds them.
- What you choose to keep in your room: what Mo remembers about you and your work, the decisions you save, your commitments and sheets, bookmarks, shelf items, research Reese does for you, and questions you send Morris with his replies.
- Your chats with Mo: the chat itself isn't stored on our servers. Your browser keeps a copy in that tab for up to a day, so a refresh doesn't lose it, and clears it when you sign out. Each turn is sent to the AI model to write the answer, and then only what you or Mo chose to save is kept.
- Private: anything you mark Private is used for that answer and never kept.
- Documents you share with Mo: when you use "Share with Mo", the words are pulled out of your PDF or Word document in your own browser and kept in your room with Mo's reading note, so you can come back to it. To read your document, we send it securely to the AI service we use (currently Anthropic). For a PDF, the file itself goes to our storage in Sydney just long enough to be read, and we delete it as soon as Mo has read it; a Word document's file never leaves your device. The words and Mo's note are deleted after 30 days (after a day if you shared it with Private on), or straight away when you delete it from your Memory page. A document can hold your own figures; they stay in your room, and never go into what Mo remembers, your pages, a question to Morris, or anyone's archive.
- Support notes: your email and message, with any dollar figures and private text taken out.
- How the room is used: counts and timings, such as which screens were opened and for how long, and how many turns were taken. Never what you said. You can switch this off with "Don't track my use" on your Memory page, and it's off whenever your browser asks sites not to track.
- Visitors to the front page, Try Mo, the Before the Year Turns page and the join step: We count visits to these pages, like how many people arrive and how far they read, without cookies and without knowing who you are. We never record what you type into Mo here. If your browser asks sites not to track you, we don't count you at all.
- Visitors to Try Mo and the gift page: a count against a scrambled, one-way code made from your browser or connection. No IP address, question or answer is kept.
- Event feedback: if you fill in the feedback form on one of Morris's event pages, we keep what you wrote, your name and email only if you gave them, your ticked choices, the type of browser you used, and a scrambled, one-way code made from your connection that changes every day. No IP address is kept. Morris reads it. Your name is only used if you ticked the box to say so, and you're only added to the Tuesday email if you ticked that one. To have yours deleted, write to Sylvia.
- The Tuesday email: only if you tick the box. Your name and email go on Morris's Tuesday email list, run on MailerLite, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
The microphone
We never receive or keep your voice. In Chrome, Edge and Safari, the mic uses your browser's own speech recognition, which may send the sound to the browser's maker (Google, Microsoft or Apple) to turn into words; their privacy terms apply to that. In other browsers the words are worked out inside your own browser, and the sound doesn't leave your device.
Where it's kept, and who else handles it
- Supabase runs the room's database and sign-in, so everything in your room lives there, in Sydney, Australia (the AWS ap-southeast-2 region).
- Cloudflare hosts the website and passes requests to it, so it sees your connection's details the way any website host does, across its global network.
- Anthropic provides the AI model that writes Mo's and the team's answers, runs Reese's web searches and reads the documents you share with Mo, and it receives the messages and documents for each answer, in the United States. It deletes them from its systems within 30 days, unless they're needed to look into a breach of its usage rules or the law requires them to be kept longer.
- Stripe takes payments and runs the receipts and billing page, in Australia and overseas, including the United States.
- Resend sends emails such as your sign-in link and your welcome, from the United States.
- MailerLite sends the Tuesday email, and only has your details if you ticked the box; it's based overseas.
Anthropic handles your messages under its Commercial Terms of Service (effective 17 June 2025), which say: "Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services." Your chats aren't used to train AI models, by Anthropic or by us.
We never train AI on what you share. What we learn from is how Choose Forward works for you, from what you tell us about it: a rating, a flag on an answer, a note on what's missing, a support note. Alongside that we look at the counts of use described above, which never include what you said.
Some of these providers are overseas, so your information may be handled outside Australia. We choose providers with strong security and we only send them what they need to do their job. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Who can see your room
Only you. Morris doesn't see your chats or what Mo remembers. He sees what you send him: your question each month (with the context you add), an answer you flag, and support notes. A decision page you choose to share can be opened by anyone with its link, without your name or email on it; you can stop sharing it at any time.
How long we keep it
- If you cancel: your room is kept for 30 days after your membership ends, in case you come back, and then it's deleted, along with your sign-in.
- If you came in on a gift: deleted 30 days after the gift ends, unless you join.
- Support notes: 90 days, so Sylvia can follow up, and then they're deleted.
- Usage counts: up to 400 days, and once your room is deleted they're no longer linked to you.
- Visit counts: up to 400 days, and they were never linked to you in the first place.
- The refund check: if you take the 14-day refund, we keep a scrambled, one-way code of your card, email and name, so the refund can't be claimed twice. It can't be turned back into the originals.
- Payment records: Stripe keeps these as the tax law requires.
Your memory, and deleting it
Your Memory page shows everything Mo remembers. You can change or delete any item there, or press "Delete everything Mo remembers" to clear your room and start fresh while keeping your membership. To have your whole account deleted straight away, write to Sylvia and it's done within a few days.
Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at sylvia@morrisfuturist.com. We'll reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner than that.
Keeping it safe
Each member's information is walled off from everyone else's in the database itself. Sign-in uses a one-time link or code that lasts 15 minutes, with no password to steal. We check the room's security before every update and review it in full every month. If something ever went wrong that put your information at risk, we'd tell you promptly and say what we're doing about it, and we'd tell the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Age
Choose Forward is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly hold information about anyone younger.
Questions and complaints
Write to Sylvia at sylvia@morrisfuturist.com. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information in a way that matters, we'll update this page and tell members by email or in the room first.
